I love helping people get stronger every day. As a certified personal trainer and group class instructor, I help people over 50 achieve their energy and health goals. That means they leave my classes feeling energized, stronger, more relaxed, and ready for whatever the day brings!

My super power is partnering with clients to create an exercise program that's fun, customized, and gets results quickly without pain. I'm all about teaching technically safe, effective, and scientifically proven movements that help reduce pain and stiffness, while improving stability and strengthening bone and muscle. I am dedicated to continually learning the most effective, safe exercises to strengthen our body’s and balance.

Here's some things I can help you with:

  • Shoulder and back issues

I have special training in Arthritis and Osteopenia/Osteoporosis, so my exercises use the guidelines from the Arthritis Foundation, National Osteoporosis Foundation, International Osteoporosis Foundation, Oregon State University Bone Research Lab, and Osteoporosis Canada.

My personal story

After 25 years in the technology field, working as a Material Program Manager with Intel, I decided to make a transformative career change and and become a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor. When I broke my wrist, I found out that I had Osteoporosis in my spine and Osteopenia in my hips and legs.

After getting over the shock of the initial diagnosis, I began to research the effects of bone loss, and sought a recommended Physical Therapist, Wade Anderson, that specialized in Osteoporosis. I did four things to improve my bone health:

  • Consistent exercise

  • Better nutrition

  • Gentle Vibration Plate (Juvent 1000, now Marodyne LivMD)

  • Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement (an extremely low dosage)

The Good News! 

One year later the DEXA Bone Density Scan showed that I had no more Osteoporosis, and now only Osteopenia.  My next goal is to have normal bone density and no Osteopenia.

When I'm not teaching, you can find me....

  • Playing with my grandchildren

  • Spending time with family & friends

  • Learning all I can about helping people stay healthy and active!
